The nature reserve where the famous Maspalomas Dunes are located has been classified as a protected area since 1975. The reserve covers almost 403 hectares and boasts a beautiful landscape in a unique environment brimming with golden and orange tones. Enjoy a night-time stroll around the site and admire the shooting stars! The charming village of Artenara, located at the highest part of the island, is well worth a visit. Its outskirts are home to impressive troglodyte houses, as well as fascinating rock engravings, archaeological sites and caves.
