26 Lapland adventures Experience untouched nature, age-old traditions and incredible adventures! Lapland is not only the land of Father Christmas, but also of reindeer, snow and the Northern Lights. This remote corner north of the Arctic Circle is steeped in legends and traditions that the Sami – a nomadic tribe that has occupied the territory since the dawn of time – have kept alive! In order to help you discover the different facets of this region, your LuxairTours package offers a range of activities, as well as a selection of optional activities that are sure to excite you! Departure from Luxembourg Duration: 3 to 4 nights Language: French DAY 1: Arrival, visit to Santa's Village and settling in After landing, you will be welcomed by your guide. To get you into the Christmas spirit straight away, you'll stop off at Santa Claus Village and have some free time to discover the magical atmosphere that reigns there throughout the year... and maybe even meet Father Christmas! At the end of the day, you will be taken by bus to your accommodation. DAY 2: Discovery programme (services and group activities included in your package / duration: approx. 4 hours) including: • Provision of thermal clothing To protect you from the extreme cold and make the most of your activities, we will provide you with thermal clothing. • A visit to a husky and reindeer farm At the Ratiola reindeer and husky farm, you'll learn more about these two emble- matic animals of Lapland. The programme includes a 3-kilometre (approx. 15-minute) dog-sleigh ride through a snow-covered forest, giving you a chance to appreciate their agility. This excursion also gives you the chance to meet Santa's favourite animal. You'll be able to get close enough to feed them and take a seat on board a sleigh pulled by a reindeer over a distance of around 500 metres. Of course, a guide will explain everything to you and you'll leave with your reindeer driving licence! You will also be served a traditional two-course lunch. DAY 3/4: optional activities (services and group activities not included in your package / duration varies according to activities) The exact schedule of your stay, with dates and times of activities, will be given to you on site, when you arrive. Optional activities LuxairTours has selected the following activities for you to make the most of your Lapland experience (we strongly advise you to book these activities before departure, as last-minute bookings are very rarely honoured): • Snowmobile ride (duration: 3 hours // 2 people (aged 14 and over) per snowmobile // booking code: RVNSMSEXC). Guaranteed thrills as you drive your snowmobile through fabulous snow- covered landscapes. Pause for a hot drink along the way. • Husky ride (total duration including transfers: 2 hours // 2 adults (aged 18 and over) per team // booking code: RVNHUSEXC). You'll take the reins of a husky team that will lead you gently through pristine, breathtaking countryside for a distance of around 10 km • A rctic traditions and snow hotel (total duration including transfers to and from the shores of Lake Lehtojärvi: 4h30 to 5h00 // two-course lunch included // booking code: RVNICEEXC). You will be immersed in the absolutely unusual ice décor of the Arctic Snow Hotel and can try your hand at ice sculpture or ice fishing. • A Lappish evening around the campfire (duration: 4 to 5 hours // booking code: RVNAUREXC). Enjoy a convivial evening in a magical setting by candlelight and campfire. By the fire and wrapped up in warm clothes, you can enjoy Lapland specialities cooked on the barbecue while taking in the magnificent fire show! DAY 4 OR 5: Return day After returning your thermal clothing and accommodation in the early morning, you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight.
