Discover the ancient treasures of the city of Almería, the capital of the province of the same name, founded in 955 by the Arabs. Its soil is rich in archaeological treasures and artefacts from the Neolithic period, most of which are now on display in the city's archaeological museum. Numerous remains trace the history of this rich and welcoming region. Must do Take a trip through the Sierra Nevada mountain range and stop in Guadix, one of Spain's most unusual villages, famous for its troglodyte houses and typical white chimneys. Visit the Alcazaba Palace, the largest Arab-Andalusian citadel in Spain. You will be amazed by the rich history of this place, which consists of three fortified enclosures, a mosque and beautiful gardens with pools and fountains. Explore the Sorbas caves, where you will walk through their numerous galleries full of stalactites and stalagmites.
